She was one of the original ABW staff members in 1997 & 1998 when Cruise America hatched the idea of Arizona Bike Week with the first event held in Avondale, Arizona. Many things have changed since those days but one thing remains the same, Kimmy is still in there contributing her time and talent to make things better.
Kimmy founded the Biker Information Guide in 1997 and the magazine has grown tremendously over the years with distribution now spanning 11 states. Her commitment and dedication to the motorcycling community is apparent in everything she touches. The Gin Blossoms in the HandleBar Saloon- 8:30 PMPresented by Buddy Stubbs Harley-DavidsonAlternative power popsters Gin Blossoms were formed in 1987 in Tempe, AZ, by longtime friends Bill Leen (bass) and Doug Hopkins (guitar), with an initial lineup also featuring vocalist Jesse Valenzuela, guitarist Richard Taylor, and drummer Chris McCann. The following year saw several personnel shifts as the band struggled to solidify -- McCann was replaced by Dan Henzerling and, shortly thereafter, Phillip Rhodes, while Taylor was fired and replaced by guitarist Robin Wilson. Wilson and Valenzuela subsequently switched roles, and the band recorded a self-released album, Dusted, in 1989. A&M signed them the following year

“Tribute to Excellence” George J. Smith Sr., Founder, S&S Cycle, Inc.In 1958 a partnership was formed between George J. Smith Sr. and Stanley Stankos, the result was S&S Cycle Equipment. In 1959 Mr. Stankos sold out to George & Marjorie Smith and as they say, the rest is history. 50 years later the company founded by George Sr. is still building top of the line performance parts and V-Twin motors that set the standard for after market quality and performance. His first Land Speed Record set in 1954 at the Bonneville Salt Flats was just the beginning of a legacy established and repeated by S&S Cycle throughout the years. As an inductee in the “Motorcycle Hall of Fame” George Sr. epitomizes the true meaning of the Tribute to Excellence Award. Join us for this celebration of accomplishment as we recognize George J. Smith Sr. for his exceptional contributions to motorcycle engineering and performance. His Vision was simple - “I want to make all bikes go faster”

Eddie Money in the HandleBar Saloon- 8:30 PM"Everything I do, I do it for you". Eddie Money says it at least once, every show. And he means it. This straight up rock and roll icon has been making music and delivering it to his fans since the mid 70's, and wouldn't have it any other way. With hits like "Two Tickets To Paradise", "Baby Hold On", "Walk On Water", "Think I'm In Love" and "Shakin", Eddie continues to be one of the hardest working men in rock and roll.

Cheap Trick in the HandleBar Saloon- 9:00 PMPresented by Chester's Harley-DavidsonCombining a love for British guitar pop songcraft with crunching power chords and a flair for the absurd, Cheap Trick provided the necessary links between '60s pop, heavy metal, and punk. Led by guitarist Rick Nielsen, the band's early albums were filled with highly melodic, well-written songs that drew equally from the crafted pop of the Beatles, the sonic assault of the Who, and the tongue-in-cheek musical eclecticism and humor of the Move. Their sound provided a blueprint for both power pop and arena rock; it also had a surprisingly long-lived effect on both alternative and heavy metal bands of the '80s and '90s, who also relied on the combination of loud riffs and catchy melodies.
